Auto Broker CF

Definitely a scam. I am out $5k as a result.

Same story as other posters, online looking for a vehicle. Came across site and their story of selling seized vehicles. Did online research, but nothing set off alarm bells (wish I had this site). Went through the entire process with chat (Irene Wills) and then email from Michael Ben O’Brien, Financial Operations Manager. They send legit invoice and even send you a receipt after funds received. Supposed to get vehicle within a few days. Needless to say never arrived and no returned calls or emails. Left talking to a chat bot (Paul Mathis).

Interesting thing is they provide enough info for law enforcement to track down if really interested. I have name of recipient of funds (Anna Tluszcz), bank name (turned out to be bank in Queens, NY), routing number, the works.

I have filed a complaint with FTC, FBI and Better Business Bureau. I have little illusions about seeing the $$, this is about helping prevent the next case. These guys are good and they have to be stopped. No doubt when the word gets out they’ll just shut down shop and reopen under new name, but still.

Sorry to hear about your unfortunate circumstance. I found a little different website (last two characters different, whoa super clever). Seemed to good to be true so that’s why I’m here reading your review. Here’s the one I came across:

Initial means of contact Internet messaging (e.g., WhatsApp)

Found this website that deals in seized and used vehicles, campers etc… I used the chat app on the website to say I was interested in a camper for 4500, Paul Mathis (if that’s his name) said it was located in wisconsin.
They wanted me to send a money order or direct wire to a private name.
I asked for a VIN number which they ignored and they wanted me to send a picture of my id front and back. They kept ignoring my request for a VIN number and just wanted me to wire the money. A person using the name Brian Miller pretended to be a finance person claiming to be from Oklahoma city. They are not illiterate so if you look at the website and chat with someone it looks legitimate, it’s not! Don’t fall for it.
Thank goodness I never wired the money.

On Craigslist looking for a camper, I found an ad and it said to visit their website for more info. It told all about their sales, as repo’s from police, banks and such and them going to the auctions to buy them and passing the savings on to us. Listed their address, phone# and Fax# and said that they use google voice management to direct you to sales person. Also said that the phones are always busy or never answered cause out at auction sales. So I get the CHAT pop up…and I tell them that I don’t like buying online and wary of things that sound too good to be true, he said that maybe I should just meet them in person for my first sale with them and could just put the 20% down and then be 3 days before they would receive the seized vehicle. All completely refundable of course. I clicked on the map of where they were, but the google pic didn’t show the business name, I did more research and called the business that was there and asked if they were affiliated with AutoBrokerCF, they said NO, that it was a scam, others had asked too. He said that the police told him if anyone else called about them, to tell us to report it to the police. So I will and also reporting on here.
