Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
I was selling a piano on Craigslist, this person contacted me and said they were interested. They sent a cashier’s check in the mail, saying they included extra money to pay for the “moving expenses”. The area code on the number was from a city in Minnesota, the fedex package that included the check was from Phoenix, AZ, and the PO Box on the check was from Richmond, VA. The check was for $1500 more than the original asking price for the piano. I didn’t accept the check.
