I listed a car for sale on several websites, including Craigslist. I was contacted via text message saying he was interested and wanted me to do a VIN report via a link he sent me. I offered to do a VIN report via a separate website, as I don’t trust any links sent from strangers and I was unable to verify the authenticity and reliability of the link he sent me. He refused and insisted I use the specific link he gave me. I haven’t accessed the link as the only reason for this behavior is either a scam, phishing, or a virus.
