Type of a scam Tech Support
Pop up window appeared on computer. Said they had detected spyware/malware/virus on my computer. If I did not contact them immediately, they would disable my computer so that they could limit the damage to their software! I called the phone number and the man said his name was Jackson. Said they were with Viron who works for Microsoft. Was demanding that I pay $49.00 and give him my permission to access my computer to correct the problem. After I hung up the phone I downloaded a virus protection program that did not find any type of virus, spyware and or malware on my computer. I wanted to contact Microsoft to advise them of this scam. I also googled Viron and found no company doing business in any computer related field. Could not find a phone number to easily contact Microsoft.
