Type of a scam Tech Support

On November 23, 2017, I turned on my computer to check my email when the screen turned blue and I was instructed to call the number on the screen. When I did, they stated they were from Microsoft and worked with Web Network based out of Edison, New Jersey. They informed me that my computer was infected with Malware and they could fix it, but I needed to give them access to my computer. The cost was 199.99 and they wanted me to given them my checking account and routing number. When I refused, they said they could take a credit card, but it was not the preferred means. I became a little suspicious, but they gave me other number to call and things seemed legit. I had no ability to get into my computer, so I paid and my wife took over as they accessed my computer. While they were supposedly fixing the issue, they installed two malware programs on my computer, Webroot and Web Network. After they were finished, my daughter informed me of the scam and I am working to rectify this. Don’t be a victim.
