Type of a scam Online Purchase
This guy emailed about my husband’s motorcycle I have listed on Craigslist. I asked him to call my husband to discuss the motorcycle, but he said he couldn’t speak and would have to hire a sign interpreter when he came to look at the bike. He then said he would pay cash and wanted to meet, but first we needed to go to this website he sent a link to and send him a vehicle history report, which we would have to pay $19 for. I did some research and figured out it was a scam and he was trying to get the money from people as well as credit card and other personal info. I respsonded with an email saying I was not comfortable doing that because it could be a scam and he sent back an email saying the website was legit with a detailed description of why the website was not a scam site, how to use the site, and that you have to give something to get something…further proving the point he was trying to scam me. At that point for my own curiosity, I said I would get the report from a website of my choosing and send it. I have yet to hear back from this person.
