Type of a scam Online Purchase
I recently have been looking to purchase a Persian kitten online. I’ve had a Persian before, which I bought as a kitten and I payed about $600-$700. And that was 22 years ago. Prices on Persians seemed to have gone up in 22 years, but I didn’t want to spend $1000-$2000 bc all I wanted was a pet. No intent on breeding. So I was looking for a deal, the cheapest Persian kitten I could find. I emailed a few & they emailed me back. The one that was the best deal was verdantPersiankittens.com which had gorgeous Persian kittens and the prices had been reduced from $1000 to $500 with free shipping for Valentines Day. I contacted them from their website & the almost immediately emailed me back. I asked to FaceTime with them to see kitten, but they emailed me a video of the kitten playing instead. They sent very sincere emails about wanting the best home for the Persian kitten I wanted to purchase. I finally decided to jump on this offer and again I received a call from (446)346-0715 within minutes!! It was James and he had a very foreign accent. He told me I had to sign a contract which they were emailing me, I had to sign & send back and then they’d send me info on how to pay for the kitten. The 2 ways I was told I could pay, was through PayPal or Cash App. I had never heard of Cash App so that was an immediate no. I had PayPal so I tried using it to transfer the $. I tried probably 5x and it would not go through. I contacted Verdant Persian kittens by email multiple times telling them I was having issues with transfer going through on PayPal. They of course said that PayPal had been having some issues lately. They told me I could try using Zelle or Google pay to transfer the $. I even downloaded the Zelle App and attempted again to transfer $ to them but my bank account wouldn’t let me send funds externally which stopped me again. I sent them an email telling them I was still having issues, I was gonna take a break & try again in 30 min to an hour. During that break I just so happened Googled Verdant Persian Kittens & scam and sure enough I was taken to a page that told me it was a complete scam & the website had only just been set up on December 18,2019. There was even I complaint just like mine. I’m not sure if they got her $ or not. They didn’t get my $$!! Please Beware of Verdant Persian Kittrns because it is FAKE and they are just SCAMMING YOU out of you MONEY!!
