I received an email on my work computer from an employee my higher up asking me to go purchase 6 gift cards in the amount of $500 each. Then to email them the information so I can get my reimbursement from the company back. I didn’t think twice about doing this for my work as I have done similar things like this before.After I purchased the cards I sent all gift card information to the scammer which I again I thought was my higher up. what tipped me off was that they wanted me to go get more cards at that point I contacted the employee all to find out that the email was not form them and mow I am out $3,000 and there nothing I can do about it. Be aware do not purchase anything without having an actual verbal conversation with the person from your company.
