I am on the Do Not Call list and have received SEVERAL calls from people who claim to be calling from the Warranty Processing Department, and are inquiring what kind of car I drive and if the warranty has expired. Since I drive a very old car, I know this is some kind of gimmick or scam.
Today (after asking other callers to put me on their do not call list) I received another call — this one from 208-494-1663, which caller ID said was from Grangeville, Idaho. This time the caller said he was from my dealers warranty processing department. When I asked his name, he said Bill Miller. When I asked which dealer he was calling from, he said he’d have to transfer me to "someone who could answer that question" — after several rings, it went to a voicemail of a 5-digit number and a full mailbox. When I call the original number back, I get "press this number" which leads to a perpetual loop in which no one answers.
